Privacy policy
How Rekord stores records on your iPhone, and how Ogenso handles sharing, recovery, website visits, and support email.
Effective date: 4 October 2026.
Provider: Ogenso. Rekord is part of the Ogenso umbrella.
Privacy contact: rekord@ogenso.com.
Your records stay under your control
Rekord stores the originals you choose to import, their recognised text, reviewed details, histories, draft reviews, and follow-ups locally on your iPhone. Document text recognition and the current search/comparison functions run on-device. Rekord does not upload these records to a Rekord server or remote AI service. The current app has no Rekord account, advertising SDK, or third-party analytics SDK.
Original files may contain personal information or embedded metadata. Rekord preserves imported originals rather than removing that information; check the original before sharing it.
You choose which photos or files to import through system pickers. The camera is used when you choose document scanning. Sharing an original into Rekord first copies it into a protected inbox shared by the app and its share extension, so you can review it in Rekord. This inbox is not a public sharing service.
Settings and local usage counts
Rekord stores preferences, such as onboarding completion and notification detail, on the device. It also keeps local counts of records confirmed/corrected, proof screens opened, and local queries run. These counters do not contain your record content or search text and are not transmitted to us by the current app. The erase-all control resets them.
Permissions and reminders
Camera access and notification permission are optional. You can change them in iPhone Settings. Photo selection uses Apple’s picker instead of requesting access to your complete library.
When you enable a reminder, Rekord schedules a local notification through iOS. Discreet notification text is the default; choosing detailed notifications may show a follow-up title on the lock screen. Notification delivery also depends on iOS settings and device conditions.
Sharing and external services
Rekord exports originals, selected evidence packets, scoped readable copies, or complete recovery archives only when you choose the relevant action. You select the destination in the system share sheet. These exported ZIPs and originals are not encrypted by a Rekord password. People or services receiving a copy may retain it under their own policies.
A complete recovery archive contains all saved records, including Recently Deleted records, originals waiting for review, recognised document text, recorded details and source excerpts, unfinished review edits, and history relationships. It can contain sensitive information that is not visible on the timeline. Anyone with the unencrypted ZIP can read its contents; choose a private destination and manage access there. Temporary archive copies use protected app-controlled storage.
Rekord checks a recovery archive before restoring it into an empty library. Restore does not merge with existing records, restore iOS notification permissions, or automatically schedule saved follow-up reminders. Review your restored dates and enable any reminders you want. Ordinary readable exports and selected evidence packets cannot restore a library.
Apple and any file provider you choose may process files as part of their own services. Device or computer backups may include app data according to your settings; local storage is not a promise that operating-system backups never leave your device. Rekord does not provide its own cross-device sync service. Deleting a local record does not delete copies already shared or placed in external backups.
Retention and deletion
Your saved records remain on the device until you remove them. A record moved to Recently Deleted remains recoverable until you choose permanent deletion; the current app does not promise automatic deletion after a fixed number of days.
Privacy & Data includes controls to permanently remove deleted records and erase local records, originals, pending shared imports, temporary prepared exports and archives, local usage counters, and pending reminders. If a file operation fails, Rekord reports that it needs attention rather than guaranteeing removal.
Rekord cannot remove documents from their original source app, a recipient’s storage, or an external backup. Manage those copies separately. Removing notification permission prevents future notifications; you can also turn off a record’s reminders inside Rekord.
Protection
Rekord uses Apple’s local file protection for its original files and store files and responds to device locking. Protection depends on the device and operating-system configuration. This is not a guarantee against every form of access, device compromise, or data loss, and it does not make exported files password-encrypted.
When you contact support
Email rekord@ogenso.com to contact Ogenso about Rekord or this policy. Sending email is your choice; using the app does not automatically send us your records or a support message.
If you contact us, we receive your email address, the information you put in the message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to reply, investigate the problem, and keep a record of your support request. Please describe the steps and use a fictional example or redacted screenshot when possible. Do not send private originals or a complete recovery archive unless you deliberately decide they are needed.
Our support address uses Cloudflare Email Routing to forward mail to a Google Gmail mailbox managed by Ogenso. These providers process messages and associated delivery information to provide their services. Their privacy practices are described in the Cloudflare privacy policy and Google privacy policy.
We retain support correspondence while it is needed to respond, investigate an ongoing issue, and maintain necessary support records. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information you sent by writing to the same address. We will review the request and explain any information we still need to retain. Provider backup and deletion processes may take additional time; deletion from a support mailbox is separate from deleting your local Rekord library.
Visiting this website
Cloudflare Pages hosts these support and privacy pages. To deliver and protect the website, Cloudflare may process visitor IP addresses, request and network information, browser or device information, and service or security logs. Hosting or security controls may also use cookies. These operations are separate from the records kept locally in the Rekord app.
These pages contain no support-contact form, advertising code, or third-party font assets. Opening an email link uses the mail application you choose. Cloudflare’s service data handling is described in its privacy policy.
Cloudflare and Google may process information in countries other than your own, according to their service and privacy practices. Follow the provider links above for their retention, security, and international-processing information.
Changes
If Rekord’s data handling changes, the policy and App Store privacy disclosures will be updated to reflect the changed release. The effective date identifies the published policy. Email rekord@ogenso.com with privacy questions.
